Hybrid Technology
The plastic/metal hybrid technology combines the benefits of each materials and achieves synergies which the individual materials cannot provide. The metal may be overmolded or automatically back injected, either fully or partially in the injection tool by intelligently applying an insertion technology.
The tight fit between the plastic and the inserted metal parts in the injection process facilitates the production of highly resistant and, at the same time, cost-efficient components. Compared with conventional injection molding, complex structures and electric functions such as conductor track and plug contact can be implemented which were not available with thermoplastics until now due to their characteristics.
